Church Spotlight - Iron Sharpens Iron - Castro Valley, CA
On February 20th, 2010, over five hundred men streamed into the entrance of Neighborhood Church to hear keynote speakers Rick Rigsby and Doug McCary challenge them to go to greater heights in their Christian walks. The conference also provided the men with sixteen different equipping seminars for men of all ages. Nate, an African-American man in his twenties commented, “I wasn’t planning on attending, but the guys in my church kept prodding me to come...so at the last minute I decided to come. I’m sure glad I did, because Rigsby’s talk hit me right where I live!”
 John, a middle-aged man who attended the conference last year, was instrumental in getting over a dozen men to attend this year-and not all from his church. He said, “Men need this. We get so busy with work, families, and life that we isolate ourselves from each other. ISI, even for one day, brings us together and reminds us that men need other men.” One of the women who provided support at a vendor table probably said it best:”To hear 500 men in unison singing praises to God brought tears to my eyes.”
