Leverage a Seasonal Activity
Looking for a creative idea to spark your next men's outreach event? Why not leverage a seasonal activity? Fall is the perfect time for a men's event with Football as a focus.
Many churches have developed a Men's Night Out or Men's Day Out around the football theme. Ideas include:
- Hosting a Monday Night Football or Super Bowl party at your church and feature a former college or Pro football player with a compelling faith story to tell during half-time
- Hosting a Touch/Flag Football game over the weekend to enjoy some friendlly competition - include a BBQ and a chance to hang out afterward
Consider using the football season as a way to encourage guys to reach out to their unchurched friends and neighbors one-on-one. Brothers who have like interests in football could "team up" and plan more casual ways to invite their friends to be a part of "Christian fellowship" in a nonthreatening way. Why not try these ideas?
- Attend a local high school or college football game as a group and go for pizza afterward
- Watch your favorite college or NFL teams together
- Host a Super Bowl party together
Each season offers sports opportunities that can be used creatively to connect with your unchurched community. Don't miss them!
