National Men's Ministry Update
Last month we traveled to the National Coalition of Men's Ministry gathering in Minneapolis, MN and had a chance to hear from many leaders of men's ministry movements around the country and contribute to the dialog. Our takeaways?
- Many churches are more eager to embrace ways to actively disciple their men than they are to embrace another program for men
- Pastors and leaders of men are wrestling with how to inspire real spiritual transformation
- Many are asking, "where are the younger men?" and looking at ways to encourage mentoring relationships within their churches
Our ministry has always put a high value on discipleship - encouraging men to become more Christ-like. This next year we plan to place special emphasis on this area and bring it more "front and center" of what we do. We want to inspire and equip churches to engage men in connecting with the real Jesus and seeing real spiritual transformation take place. We see ourselves as partners in this process. We believe to effectively reach men, churches need to be organized efficiently to integrate new guys and introduce them to Christ and HIs word, while giving ample opportunity for men to meet other real men and engage in authentic relationships where they see God's transforming power at work.
